LD

The debate Lincoln Douglas is a very interesting debate. Although it has many good and attractive qualities, it also has a few flaws that we will discover. First the one thing that i believe makes LD a great and appealing debate style is the fact that you have no partner. This stand alone view toward debate is a blessing and a cures. While it means that you don't have to rely on a partner and when you win you are completely responsible for the victory, but you are also responsible for every loss. Furthermore with not partner to support you often you can feel the burden of making a case all by yourself. You don't have a partner to bounce ideas off of or to ask for support when you cannot think of ideas. Moving on to the second reason , the rounds themselves can get pretty frustrating. This can be caused by either noticing that you don't have everything you need while in a round , or just getting mad at the opponent them self. Also seeing how LD is a value debate the simple clash between views and differing opinions can be the most frustrating experience.My third and final point is that not all debates are cut and dry ( because of second reason). You might not know if you win or lose because of how differing ideas are used. Even though these are not the only thing wrong with the LD debate, it is still a very great debate far passing PF and even with CX debate.
